I bought one of their hoses and a spray nozzle. All of the quick connects leaked, and the nozzle cracked over the winter even after ensuring it was disconnected, drained of water and left standing on its end (in case of any remaining water that could freeze).
Left me unimpressed but I'd be sure to bring the retractable reel into the house over the winter so my concerns may not be applicable.

I do like the "quick release" aspect of this and would most definitely take it in for the winter and put it in the basement.

I was looking at that reel too. Looks mice and compact, I couldn't remember if 1/2 inch hose is standard or a little smaller, which I would like. It is expensive, but if it really is good quality I could stomach the cost. So... Dubber, let us know how it is!

Same thing with the hose in the current Gardena Manual reel i have in the garage. Hose is smaller but way better i find. I've had it for a couple summers now.

I decided to snag it while it was still on sale, i can always return it if it doesn't end up being what i'm looking for The prices of 100' hoses plus a hose reel separately are pretty surprising to be honest. The total price ends up being more than i paid for this clean set-up. I hadn't previously realized that husqvarna actually owns Gardena, another company that i'm fond of.



On another note i thought i would post up a couple snaps from this weekend. We hosted my fam at our place for mothers day and I was able to use my brother's portable ramp to get him into the house. The last time he was over we used the front entrance which is a little more labour intensive. This also involved using the lawn so during the winter was out for a visit. This route was a breeze and means him coming over doesn't have to be weather or season dependent. The accessibility of this place was another consideration we had as a couple had multiple levels within the main floor alone. Once i get him in he has free range of the main floor which is great.

Basically a special addition that came with a ton of extra goodies and only one option; which this one has, ESP. Stock it came with sport suspension (since upgraded), sport exhaust (since upgraded), full body kit, BBS wheels (now backup duty), Audi TT brakes and pedals, brushed aluminum inside trim, RECARO seats and several other unique bits.

Its my favorite colour of car thus far. It creates some awesome angles based on the lighting.

The GLI comes stock with some unique headlights with the blacked out inside which I like the look of. The output ***** but thats a common issue with the mk4 and i rarely drive it at night. The fog lights help. I've also replaced to a brand new OEM set the first summer i got the car.

As for the exhaust i have a full 42 Draft Design turbo back system. Upgraded size to 3" from 2.25" from the Downpipe all the way back to the double walled single tip. This set-up sounds amazing IMO. As for coils I'm on ST's.

I went to Sowo Saturday and had a good time, did some mountain runs, hung out with some old friends, and ate some german food. Apparently it got crazy after dark and those idiots might have actually killed Sowo off. I dont think Helen is going to let it return next year.

I thought it was an RS6. The rumor is that he over heated his brakes and parked on the side of the road to let them cool. Apparently the brakes set the grass on fire and by the time he noticed it was too late.

That is annoying for sure. The piece is pretty heavy duty and i really only want to mount it once. I'm planning on creating a deck in the back yard next month so i will be putting it up once that is done. In the meantime, my current hose is still grinding my gears.

They should limit that SoWo event to Junior High School teachers with SQ5's. All problems solved...

Decided this was finally the time to add the frosting on the garage door windows. I had been very pleased with how the side window turned out using this product and with ease of use and end results. Opted to use the same application and again i'm happy with how it has turned out. Great mix of privacy while still allowing a lot of light to naturally come through. Now i avoid the potential of wandering eyes hahaha.

For only $30 from Home Depot this is worth considering for others looking to do this. They offer a wide range of variations, although this one seemed to have fit the bill for me.

Not really no. The trick is to make sure u really saturate it with the special spray you also need to pick up. If not that's when you get bubbles. A large window may require an extra set of hands.

Looking good. I am doing that to my windows this weekend. I am using a different product. Can't remember the name, but it is static cling, so easily removed if/when needed.

Dubber - I used the same brand as you. It was the platinum privacy. It had a mirror like effect but tinted the window thus the inserts that sit behind the glass from the outside.

Thought i would share this recent project with the group. Put the finishing touches on it last night. Spent a great week and a couple of days pounding this puppy out. Great experience working on a project with my pops and even the father in-law and wife all joined in at different stages. I'm very pleased with the final product and we are looking forward to enjoying it this summer.

All my tool acquisitions over the last several months have been in anticipation of this project. Fun to being able really use them and have a garage that functioned so well as the command center.
