Boy, that floor is going to look great. I've been thinking about doing RaceDeck in my little space, so I'm watching your thread closely. Cost really isn't too bad for our smaller spaces.

Thats when our small spaces definitely become an advantage over the much larger garages we were wishing we had haha.

I am probably anticipating the arrival of the RD floor just as much as YOU! It's going to set that place off like no one's business. Plus, you will love the practicality of it. Walking in your garage in your socks...SOCKS!

Haha, funny enough i made that comment to my wife last night prior to reading your comment. I won't have to give everyone a pair of shoes to come into the garage to see the changes.

Thank you, i can really say that this was no where near my radar at the starting of December but i heard about this site and read up on tons of people's great ideas and i can really say it inspired me to see what i could get done. And the beauty of these "build threads" is that they are a constantly evolving entity if you will. I didn't have this exact result in mind when i started but through further ideas, trial and error and comments/suggestions form other members it takes on a life of its own. But i gotta say its a fun process making the space more personal and inviting.

Yes its a extension cord reel, i had posted a pic of the box in one of my earlier postings in this thread, the company name escapes me at the moment. I had found it on Ebay though. Gotta say i went for the look and how substantial it seemed and i was not disappointed; its a solid piece.

Yes sir! Finalized my order yesterday. Should arrive mid next week and i'll be picking it up in NY on the Sat morning and hopefully have it all installed by the end of day sat!

I was successful in transitioning the recycling boxes out into another space and that helped tremendously. They were a huge visual obstruction and would have been an issue with one of the doors of the new cabinet. Very happy to get them out. I think I'll use a couple of the hooks to hold my golf bag once i get it back in the spring. Took another quick pic from a bit farther back after i cleaned it up a bit more. I'm really happy with the look and functionality of the end or face of the garage space.

My buddy messaged me yesterday to inform me that one of his dogs had gotten loose in his garage (where my GLI is stored over the winter) and decided to attack a corner of my car cover. Were unsure what got into him as this is the second winter its been in there. Luckily my car wasn't damaged at all. Can't unfortunately say the same thing about my Noah california car cover.



Its unfortunate as this was a substantial and quality piece. However in saying that i had been toying with the idea of getting something slimmer and meant as solely an indoor cover. I'm currently shopping around for a new one that i'll use next year.

On the flip side I'm going to see this as a positive thing as I was able to have this winter with an empty garage which allowed me to do all the work I have done to improve the space which would have been all but impossible if i was storing my car in there. Next winter i'll just be keeping my GLI in there, sitting on a sweet Race Deck floor

Thanks! Gotta say i really loved checking out your space.

That little workmate is incredibly handy for sure, X-mas gift from my father-in-law a few years ago. I've stashed it along with a few extra things in our mudroom/laundry room on the other side of the door but it often gets pulled out and put into action.

We've had a spring like day out here today and i took advantage by washing the GOLF outside on the driveway. While i was in a place of bliss my wife was out walking the pup, obviously with this nice weather comes tons of puddles and with a dog we all know what that means. This obviously meant that Sasha was headed straight to the bath. I was laughing hearing my wife swear as Sash HATES the bath.

I recently picked up a DSLR and here are a couple of my first pics while i was fiddling with the settings.

Attacked another spot in the garage tonight which i wasn't completely satisfied with. Since moving my recycling boxes off the Husky wall racks i still had a void that i wanted to make use of while still retaining a certain feel with the rest of the space. I think i finally managed to do that last night. Decided to pick up a couple of Husky's SecureLock shelves as i hadn't realized they could go over another hook which completely changed my perspective of their use. Another part of this change allowed me to incorporate a few pieces (white ladder and 4 metal bins) my mom recently gave me that she no longer needed from a recent move. They work perfectly here as well. I was happy to be able to put my GLI's OEM grill up as well, i'm just trying to hunt down a new VW emblem for cheap to finalize that spot.

OMG is that thing ever useful and a great way to hide odds and ends. The vaccum lucky for me fit perfectly in the bottom of the cabinet. I still have space in there. Enough so that I'm contemplating throwing a little mini bar fridge in there if i can find one. Its holding all my cleaning supplies, spray cans, wash buckets, empty beer bottles etc. Amazing!

I'll snap a pic of the inside at some point, its organized, BUT not to the level of EMC2's units.

Adding those little metal containers also helps to clear out some odds and ends from both Husky's.

Thanks, that's what my theme has been; simple, affordable changes to improve the look and feel of my space within the same palate for sure.

Ah, sure I'll measure tonight. When your setting it up your able to customize where you place the shelves and you can leave some out as long as you put in the middle one which allows you to actually lock and close the door. I opted to bump the shelves up to give me more room on the bottom.

I'm going to post a pic as well so you can see what i mean.

I really like the look of the Husky cabinets' colour scheme along the wall with the black painted trim. The cabinets I'm shopping for have a similar grey colour option that I'm going to use.

Its awesome to be able to share this excitement with everyone for sure. Another project i started today was a stool. I've been looking and thinking about it for a couple days just for something little, light and not expensive. Well i had found a few possibilities on Kijiji and I had it in my head that i was willing to make a project of it. I went to Giant Tiger today and they happened to have something perfect that fit the bill exactly at only $15 and solid. I'm working on it right now to customize it a bit, i'll post pics once its done.

Hey dude i just measured and the bottom of my big cabinet has the following dimensions: 17" deep, 32" wide, 25" high and you could go as high as 38" high if you didn't put a lower shelf that i put in.

Yea it looked nice and surprisingly solid, but didn't match the feel of the rest of my space. Its black now though, but not finished....

It's funny, I'm not sure if i mentioned it already or not but i just recently noticed that my garage door opener seems to be the basis for my colour palate in my little space. White, grey, with black and red accents. Funny how that worked out, as my whole space once done will be an extension of my first garage "mod".
