Where did you buy the wire rack?

I bought the wire shelving from Lowes. The wife and I try to use coupons whenever possible. We found out they will take Home Depot coupons as well. And we found some deals before Christmas on gift cards that were 15% off.

I think i would do the same as you just did with your last adjustment, have two racks on either side of the center garage door arm, a little lower.

I wanted to go a little lower but the support arms and the edge of the shelf would hit the door as it came up. The door rises about 2-3 inches above the track as it rounds the curve at the top. I tested with a scrap piece and an extra arm before deciding on this height. The support legs clear the door by about an inch or two when the door raises.

The distance between the back of the shelf and the ceiling is about 18 inches.

Coupons for Lowes. We received a few in our moving packet from the post office. although I heard they aren't putting them inside anymore. Your mileage may vary on that one. You can also get them from ebay really cheap. And we often get mailers. I think that is because we signed up for a rewards card from them.

We get similar coupons from Home depot too. $10 off $50 purchase or $25 off 250 or 10% off total. Those are the usual deals I have seen. And usually if you get a cashier who knows what they are doing they will also accept expired coupons as long as your items on on the exclusions list on the back of the coupon. If they don't know how to enter an expired coupon, politely ask them to check with another cashier. Not everyone knows the method to enter the coupon in. But they usually attempt to help you out.

I also heard Military veterans get a discount as well. Not sure if it is 5% or 10% or what you have to show to receive it.

I picked this up earlier this week for a steal of a price. 3ft wide x16 deep x30 tall

I am still trying to formulate in my mind on how many cabinets and what type etc I want on my wall above the bench. This one is in decent shape and just needs sanding, primer and some paint. Once the weather gets a bit warmer I will follow through with it.

Thinking about lighting and wondering how much I need to light this 12x31ft space. on the back side of the 17" beam. Ceiling is roughly 10 ft ad I have white semi gloss on the upper half of the walls. The ceiling is popcorn and has a flat finish to it.

I am age 40 and my eyesight is good.

I looked at light fixtures at Lowes today and found some nice looking fixtures that used two 4 ft 32W bulbs.

I currently have 3 light bulbs in that space right now and it is rather dim. They are 60W CFL bulbs. I plan to have my electrician brother in law replace the fixtures with boxes. I guess I also need to have him check for capacity too.

I found some 4ft dual bulb fixtures today at Lowes for the right price. But wondering if I should go with the 8ft fixtures instead. The only real difference I could see was price, length and the longer fixtures didn't have any coverings or diffusers like the 4ft fixtures. I like the finished look of the diffused fixtures but wondering if that helps or hurt the situation.

Here is the space I plan to light up.

After partial paint. I am finishing up the painting this week. So the rest of the garage should look like this before the end of the weekend.
