I find myself looking in the toolbox and cannot find my 5 blade crimper.

A dime a dozen, but this is GJ after all.

Which one should I get. Malco, Midewest, Hilmoe, Wiss, Lenox, Milwaukee.....

Malco used to be my default for all things sheetmetal
I thought my Max Snips were nice, but after getting the Midwest, I tend to grab those....

One review off 'Zon on the Midwest "I do HVAC for a living. My Midwest left, right, and bullnose snips are fantastic; they will likely last forever. These crimpers on the other hand? They are garbage. Maybe my pair was defective, but one of the jaws on the two jaw side came completely out of line. It no longer crimps at all. A co-worker also had a similar experience with these, although his lasted longer than mine.

Never have used Midwest crimpers, but my Malcos have been okay for a lot of years. Midwest snips are head and shoulders above any of the rest IMO, but that doesn't necessarily mean they make the best crimpers.

We didn't do any residential work, but would have a job now and then that required running a bunch of round pipe thru bar joists for clearance purposes. When we had a job like that, the guys would take a Pexto beader/crimper that clamps onto the edge of a bench to the job to work the ends of cut pipe. So really, neither myself or any of our men used hand crimpers often enough to say which brand was more durable than another.

Malco for me for crimper, malco now makes a cordless impact powered crimper if you have a LOT of pipe to crimp, if I still did any new construction or large amounts of round pipe I would have one, for the little amount I do the 5 blade hand one is fine.

I do prefer the midwest snips to anything else, I get a year or two out of them before they start getting a bit rough but I consider them a consumable anyways.

And when I flipped it on Ebay, I made almost as much as I paid for it.
