For penetrations going into the air handler what is the industry standard method to seal those up? I always see this black tarish stuff on the copper lines going in.

I do electrical mostly it reminds me of duct seal but it's clearly something different.

Cork take, or the grey gooey clay like duck seal for small holes. It depends on what you are sealing!

The black cork tape is awful stuff, but it has a place. If it is on a panel that needs to come off do not use the cork tape!
