it was nice out today so I figured I would. dig out the table saw that was buried in the corner of my garage. It has never been my go to tool because it didnt seem to cut very well. I was thinking about replacing it. Once I got it out I began to clean it up a bit. Then I decided to tear it apart and do a little refurbishing. I removed the whole blade assembly and tossed it on the deck for examination.
I removed the adjusting threaded rods and ran them on the wire wheel to remove some of the rust. I Replaced the 2 o-rings on the height adjustment shaft, greased the shaft between the o-rings and reinstalled the adjustment shaft. I removed the arbor pulley and found one of the saw's issues.
Apparently the previous owner had pulley problems and drilled a hole(depression) in the arbor for the set screw. The pulley was really wobbling.
I ordered a new arbor, bearings, Pulley, and a new belt. $108 shipped from sears parts direct. Not too bad
Ran over to HD and grabbed a new Diablo blade. As soon as the parts get here I can put Humpty Dumpty back together. I will also be upgrading the fence to the Delta T2. This should finally make this saw a good dust creator instead of a dust collector.
