The business next to where I work has shut down and left. The land lord has a 40 yard dumpster there and is trashing everything. Was told that we could have any thing out of it we wanted. I picked this 18 drawer cabinet out to bring home. Now where do I put it in my garage and what do I keep in it.

Looks like garbage, send it to me for proper recycling. It's awesome, you can keep machinist tools in it, misc hardware, etc, the price was right so hang on to it until you find a use.

planning on checking again tomorrow. The junk guys were lined up in the alley waiting for every one to leave so they could get their share. It kind of looked like a shopping cart parade...lol.

Great score OP . . . . most definitely YOU **** !!!

I'd start looking for clear plastic parts organizers that might fit right into each drawer. That way you could take out the plastic case for say all wood screws sizes. Next drawer might have machine bolts and nuts, next drawer sheet metal screws, etc.

Keep the scores coming if they're pitching great stuff like that !! ;)

I have a drawer cabinet in my shop for, well, lots of stuff. I made a plywood base for mine and put casters on it. It is really nice to be able to wheel the thing out of the way, or to wheel it over to where I'm working on something if I need to grab stuff out of it.

I pirated the casters from one of Harbor Freight's wood moving dollies. With this coupon, you can get the dollies for $8 apiece. That's $2 per caster for (theoretically) 250 lb. capacity casters. I don't know how much they'll hold in the real world, but they roll smoothly enough and are cheap.

You'll be surprised how much that cabinet will hold once you start filling it up.

Good score yesterday and saved it from the landfill. Now you can fi it up. I found a HiLo typewriter table yesterday in someone's trash. I had been looking on CL for one but nothing local or cheap. So this one both free and local. I did haul it home on my bike. I plan on using it as a small assembly/ work table.

To be honest, I would just put that in my house. That looks like the perfect cabinet for all the **** that gets tossed in our junk drawers that I can never find when I want it.

Nice score! You ****! BTW, what is that giant wad of stuff next to your refrigerator that looks like a big can of expanding foam blew up?

That's what I was thinking. Refinish it, felt line the drawers, and use if for mics and such. Pretty awesome and you do ****, sir.

had a family member that worked at a plastic extruding company. One of the machines had a slow leak in it. I saw it and thought it was neat. It also was heading for the dumpster. So like millions of plastic bags? Rich

i see that all the time too. don't know why they can't just leave it out, take some pics, & put them in the free section of cl & they'll be gone in a few hours - or call the salvation army & have them pick it up & get a tax credit? keeps it out of the dump & saves him on dump fees.
