I got this little long nose pliers in a tray lot at a local auction this weekend. No other markings except "Dunlap Approved Tools".

And a Dunlap "Approved Tools" 4" x 36" bench-top belt sander I restored also...

Any thoughts on what the "Dunlap Approved Tools" means? I have two pliers stamped with this, but it seems to be a less common Dunlap marking.

^ That's really some exquisite work you're doing there. I am assuming that you're putting those pieces on some sort of buffing wheel, yes?
I think I finally got most of mine rounded up - there are about six of them in the garage now - those "eggbeaters" - but I kind of doubt any of them are ever going to look that nice. (y)

Thanks. Yeah most of the vintage tools I've been restoring have some kind of bright polishing done to them. I'm one of those that restore for display purposes only. So that's why I take them a little over the top.

As for the process. I will start them all by hand with 2x2 inch foam backed polishing pads. These pads start at 320 grit and go up to 3500 grit. Then I will take them to a buffing wheel either on a bench set up or a Dremel.

These 3 are the first eggbeater drills I've restored. But now I'm hooked on them and want more of them. I love that they involve painting, metal working, polishing, wood working and staining. Unfortunately they all do kind of look the same with the red color. Even though they are different shades of red.
