I found this today:
43988119520_5d6ee6aaf0_b.jpg

Packed with tools, so much I could barely lift it.
31933794808_5914e5f7cc_b.jpg

Patent Pending, so I think that puts it back to the '20's.

Inside were the following:
45804611751_d46719361d_b.jpg

Sockets inclued '30's Snap-on (top row) Bonney, Hinsdale, Williams, 30's and '40's Blackhawk with others.

Box ends single and double offset include Blackhawk, Bluepoint, Walden Warchester.

And screwdrivers and adjustables and a Cornwell speeder among other stuff from the thirties. A real time capsule that cost a whole twenty dollar bill.

That is correct. No later than 1925. I won't get all crabby with envy, because I already did all envy crabbing on the Garage Sale thread when you first reported it. Been looking for a external cantilevered WWII Duplex or the HandiKit versions they made for Snap-on for a long time, but I would be tickled green for an older one, too. They are indistinguishable. They hold A LOT of tools and it's a good place for wartime collectors to put all those things we find that don't belong in the GMTK proper. Really nice find, Beemer.

Nice!
Who made the monkey wrench?
I'd think putting a hex drive on the adjuster nut would have nearly guaranteed its destruction.

Fantastic find, just wow. I have to agree with Ole Slewfoot, that big hex nut on the pipe wrench is really interesting, I too am surprised it is still in good shape. Also, that vise grip style locking plier - what brand is it? I have never seen one like that before.

Botnick Motor Corporation (BMC). Chevy dealer machine shop invention. No sh*t! One of the coolest stories in obscure tool history ever. I went on a little more about them here, and a search on 'Botnick' with the GJ search engine will turn up examples and discussion in several other threads, EDIT: including a query thread from our host Ryan.

bmw, there is another Duplex (with a patent number) on Offerup near Wilsonville for $5.00. I'm surprised that the PDX crowd hasn't scooped it up by now, since it has been listed for 5 months!
