Hi, new to the forum.

We have just built a 60x80 pole barn. The walls are 2 ft. o/c and the ceiling is 4 ft. o/c. We will be insulating the ceiling with R40 blown-in insulation.

My question is has anyone used dura-panel by Midwest manufacturing for the inside of their garage. They sell it at Menard's and it works out to be about 58 cents a square ft. The specs on it say .0128 thickness which I figure is 30 gauge. I'm familiar with 29 gauge steel but because I'm not close to a Menards to actually feel the thickness of the material. I'm a little reluctant to try it but it is about 40 percent cheaper then anything else I have found.

I live in Canada and it will save me about $3,000 dollars even with shipping costs and duty.

Thanks for your help,
Kelvin

I would attach 1x3 or 1x4's strapping perpendicular and under the rafters at 24o/c. This gives you a 3" or 4" target to get your screws into and if you pre drill all the panel on the ground 24"o/c it will be a breeze to once your up on the lift. On a 60ft long rafter you can a lot of wiggle and trying to hit that 1.5" wide rafter can be a challenge. Pre drilling will keep the hole nice and straight and it looks much better that way.
