Has anyone tried the Durabak ™ floor coating product www.nonslipcoating.com. With the changes in our Calgary weather we are finding that epoxies don't last very long so we have been researching other products. This seems like it would be perfect for a drastic weather changes. We would like to be able to offer a customers a product that they won't need to replace after only a couple of years.

Looks interesting - bothers me that they don't have detailed installation instructions online. My first question was how to prep, and they give no specifics other than 'clean, dry surface.'

A non-slip surface is a plus. I'm sure it will not stand up to weld splatter (probably only polished concrete is really up to significant weld splatter), and chemical resistance (oil, brake fluid) isn't addressed very well.

Seems like hot-tire pickup and tire discoloration are the usual complaints by epoxy users. Certainly epoxy has demonstrated chemical resistance, and there are many anecdotal reports of epoxy toughness on this forum.

I'd think, unless you really need the weatherproof non-skid characteristics, there's too much uncertainty in using Duraback as a floor coating. You'd be better off with a two-part professional epoxy coating. JMO.

I have a friend that has used it. I have used thier plaground stuff. He has had some "pull off" but it is very easily patched. I have used the Bedliner product and plan to use the concrete product in one corner of the shop where my office area will be. I have talked to them on the phone and they are very nice to deal with. They are very talk too. They have sent samples and answered alot of questions. I would say call them and talk to them about your curcumstance.

I'm not sure why their epoxy is failing (probably not engineered for flexibility)... Some of my products are outside and inside piplines across Canada... including both aboveground and buried pipelines... It doesn't get anymore brutal than that. Have you guys considered a higher technology epoxy?
