I'm having a garage built, and today I got the thought to put dutch corners on the doors. Is there a standard I should follow as for the size? Doors are (2) 10x9 and (1) 12x10. I was thinking down 12" on the small door and 14" down on the big door? Thoughts?

Gotta let them know asap cause siding is happening asap!

If you use your garage like a garage, why make the doors any smaller than they absolutely have to be?

I've always thought they look goofy with a standard garage door, they block a portion of two raised panels and look like an afterthought.

Maybe OK with carriage house doors.

I have the nice Clopay fake carriage house doors on my garage with the little window panes. I went the Dutch corners route. I did have to make little Azek fillers to make the door look like it follows the corners of the frame. Then applied them to the glass with Big Stretch adhesive caulk. Looks like it was made that way.

Have to agree with the majority here. I cu the ones off mine and squared them up when I installed new doors. On top of the reasons mentioned here, the worst part of mine was that they were only partially framed. This left a 1 1/2" gap between the back and the door face. Yellowjackets loved that space. Had to clean a nest out of each corner every month to keep them at bay.
