This came up a couple of weeks ago by another member, but I can't find the post.

It has me stumped as to who makes these Dykes, (I think the other tools with the marking was pliers, and I think I have another pair of something with the same markings)

Basick marking is :

FORGED
STEEL
USA
tt

Inside an inverted triangle

The tt could be letter tee's or religious crosses? :dunno:

In the grips in the middle of the Checkering, is an "H" in a diamond opening, (no real frame, or I would be fairly certain these were Herbrand, as they used an H in a diamond, but the font doe not resemble the Diamond H's documented on Alloy Artifacts.

Pics of mine:

So what does the knowledge of the Collective say?

I didn't know the Husky name was used/owned by NB. Interesting. Did that get sold as a tool trademark or lost to inattention after they dropped it? (I looked in AA but didn't find it)

I'm not sure if the "H" by itself was ever registered as a trademark, but I know New Britain owned the Husky brand for many years and produced Husky tools from the 30s to the 60s or 70s. It might have fallen into disuse after that, until Stanley accquired the name and ultimately dealt it to the big orange retail giant.

Since the Craftsman circle-H tools were made by Husky when it was under New Britain ownership, I'm just guessing that New Britain-Husky may have used the H on other tools too.

Thanks WWII, I'm thinking I will put a bit of time into my tool co. timeline this weekend, and add some notations for where I know what tools were supplied to Sears by which Co. That would be a cool addition to the data.

I did go looking for that triangle stamp on other pliers, and even some wrenches. Maybe I will find it in with the vintage Craftsman tools... :headscrat

OK, I'm an idjot; that "tt" is NOT a pair of tee's, I got it under a magnifier and its an "H" with "wings" and the bar is slightly above center, hence my confusion...

The bottom of the triangle it's inside of is somewhat of a stylized"V" with the bottom of the Vee, "lines" thicker than the top, or the cross bar.

So this has 3 "H"'s On in each Handle grip and the one inside the Triangle

An H with wings of sorts, any help there?

You might have better luck posting this on papaws site. I am sure someone there knows.
It may just be the angle of the photos, but the overall shape looks odd to me, odd and familiar.
