My wife has a Dyson DC 07 vacuum and it doesn't pick up like it use to. I changed out the filter and cleaned out the canister and it is only a little better. My wife read online that after a while, they get like that. Any ideas on how I can fix ours? It wasn't cheap when she bought it and I would like to fix it for her. Thanks!!

Check the gaskets, especially around the dust/dirt canister. Dyson like all bag less vacuums will lose suction.

My wife had the same problem with her DC 17. When we first bought it I thought this was the greatest vacuum ever. Then a few months later it would lose suction a few minutes after cleaning the filter. I thought what a waste of $400. She called Dyson and luckily it was still under warranty. They said it was the "cyclone unit" its the part just under the handle that sits on top of the dust bin. They sent us out a whole new replacement cyclone unit. That has taken care of the problem. The lady at Dyson said that often people take the cyclone unit out and tap it against something to get all the dust off which damages them. They also sent us out a new filter which now doesnt get clogged anymore. Its back to being the greatest vacuum I have ever used.
