E. A. Berg cutters. High quality

I don't come across anything E A berg too often, maybe 3 times in the last 5 years. This is such a great pair, a nice stamp on both sides and inside handle. I am thinking piano wire cutters or just good old all purpose cutters. I always check the kitchen junk drawers at sales, its hit or miss and today was hit.

They used to make a lot of nice chisels. Based in Eskilstuna Sweden at one time I believe. There's been a lot of buyouts and "consolidation" in tool makers there too. I don't know if E. A. Berg still exists or not.

I don't know what they were intended for, but they look like they'd make fine spoke cutters...

I've visited Eskilstuna twice. It was a VERY important manufacturing centre once...

Picked up these E.A. Berg No. 2528 offset or bent-nose dykes at the flea market today. Only the second E.A. Berg pliers I have ever found in the wild. The others were dykes, too, No. 1525, only 4 inches long, with the shark logo and a 1947 date stamp on the inside of the handle. I posted those on the 'Tools from the Old World' thread back in March of this year, linked here. These have no shark logo and no date stamp, unfortunately. The logo matches the other one, though. As with the first pair I found, exceptional quality.
