I am in the process of getting materials together for a metal ceiling and new lights. Looking at 6 of these for a 30x40x14 shop. http://www.e-conolight.com/indoor-lighting/linear-fluorescent/e-lp4t5s2nn5.html. What do you guys think? Will it be enough light for a old man?

I've ordered those same lights for the company I work for. They work great, but make sure you open and inspect them when they arrive. I let mine sit for awhile and when opened, neither worked. One was even the incorrect fixture and they both looked like they were returned items. e-conolight handled it for me, but just a heads up.

Whatever you do, don't request a catalog from them...they'll send you another one every month for the rest of your life.

E-conolight is based a couple of miles from my home. It is a spin off of Ruud Lighting which was purchased by Cree a couple of years ago. I have purchased quite a bit of lighting from Ruud when I was in the work force. (Before retirement)
They have always made good products, Cree is one of the leaders in LED technology. Good products from Wisconsin!

If you're going to spend $750 on 6 fixtures (+ lamps) might want to consider going for 9 of these Howard fixtures instead (lamps included): Howard Lighting HFLPE454APSMV00000I.

I am taking down my 6 existing lights. I didn't want to change my current layout.

I went with 8 of the Howards today. 5% off today with free shipping. Came up to $615.22 to the door. I have a big garage door 16'x12'. It goes up tight to the ceiling. That's why not the 9th one. Thanks Platonic Solid I think this will work out fine.
