In post 1259 no pictures showed only the "no-entry" symbol.
This has happened too often,. Any idea as to the problem?
By the way I enjoy following along and learning a few tricks.

I've moved a few pics around over the years, which breaks links....super difficult to figure out which they are or where they've gone....sorry!

Hi e-tek

I have read through your thread for the last three days from the beginning until the end. It's absolutely incredible how you handle different Projects at the same time and also the amount of work you are able to do during your free time considering that you are also a Family guy. I'm really:shocking: Additional to that that you have a one man Show it even:shocking:me more.
There are a few points i noticed during the reading:
You wrote that you take a standard drill for spot drill welds. Why dont you use standard drills and grind them by yourself with the required center pin to get a flat top? I have done that different times and it works very well.
Why do you drill always for a spot weld and doesn't use a spot welding gun?
At the beginning I was asking myself why you doesn't take a joggling/ punching tool. But during your work you bought such an tool. I also own such an tool but for me the punched hole diameter of 5.5 mm was too short so I remanufactured the Punch and now I have a Diameter 7mm hole which is much more comfortable to weld and I believe also the welded spot got a better Penetration.
Your idea to use a flatened copper pipe to fix holes needs to be copied by me.
What I personally can not understand: I always see you guys with a full safety Equipment- but the protection at the angle grinder is missing (especially if you use the cutting discs). I'm not fanatic with safety rules, but please be carefull with you so that we are able to read many more of your stories.
I love your Hansen Socket trays- unfortunately they are not availble in Germany but the WWW makes it possible to buy these in the near future.
At #803 and #1073 you show us how to remove a broken stud. You also can try this: use a LARGE washer and weld it onto the broken stud, on top of the washer you can weld a large nut. Doing it this way it's much more accurat to weld through the thin washer. Sometimes you have to do this twice or three times until it works-but it works perfect because you can bring in much more heat into the System.
What I'm missing at your tools is a power file which is perfect for body work.

#1395 Incredible how a landlord can act in your country. :eyecrazy:
In Germany the tenants have more rights than the owners and to get them out normally ends in endless processes at the court.

Viele Grüße aus Deutschland and please keep us updated
Rainer

Still struggling to complete the 56 International for paint. I'm still struggling to come up with enough energy to do much more than a couple hours at a time, so I hired a PT helper to help me get through the the sanding and painting portion. I farmed a couple of my previous projects (40 Ford and 68 Camaro) out to a painter I know but lost some control over quality and had to redo a few things, so I want to make sure i did this one "in house" so as to stay in control.....

Here's a quick sampling of some of this weekends work, or you can see it all at http://e-tekrestorations.blogspot.ca/ of course!

Getting picky:]

Even the insides of the doors where damaged, as though someone had them open and backed into something....

Hopefully next time I open GJ it'll be painted! Then the fun part can begin: detailing and reassembly!

A little update on the 1956 International S120 4x4 I've been taking forever to restore!
And of course something from Mrs E-tek!

The paint looks great, Ed. What do you use that you can shoot in your shop like that? Looks kinda like old skool nitrocellulose...

And what black is on the stuff underhood? Seems to have just about right the right finish for the CBP of the era.

(CBP = Cheap Black Paint -- a term we use in the Triumph TR community sometimes.)

Its base - clear. People.say its forgiving, but it's a lot of work, and takes a LOT of sanding and polishing to ge the peel, dust and dry out!! I guess the benefit is that you CAN!

I use POR15 for all frame and undersides and TRIM BLACK for all else. It's a semi sheen black made for bumpers at first but I find it perfect for interior bits, engines, lotsa stuff.

He posts on Facebook.

You say that like I'm cheating on GG! :lol_hitti

Fb is just easier - esp. from the phone. I can post to my page, and a couple vehicle specific pages all at once. BTW, Is there an easier way to post photos from phone to GG?

I think that is meant to come across as we miss you here or at least those of us that do not like Facebook. You would have to drag me kicking and screaming to join Facebook. :bounce:

I didn't realize you were posting on FB, I gave you a like to hopefully start following along. I use FB more for auto and tool related stuff than anything else, and it makes it easy to find cheap things close to home as well.

Much appreciated. Wouldn't be back where it not for the good guys here!

I'm not really prejudiced against any online formats....just online trolls!

But no one answered my question - can one post photos directlyfrom a phone onto GJ? Doesn't seem so...

Ed,
I look forward to seeing your posts again. I have only posted a couple of pictures, but they came from my phone. If I recall I downloaded them from my phone to my computer and then attached them to my post from my desktop. Hopefully another member can outline the steps if I have missed anything.

Thanks, but it's such a cumbersome process! Now that most have moved to phones only, I think GG needs to move to a simpler direct posting format. Or maybe there is I just dont know about it!

Can't help ya, Ed. I store all of my photos on the paid cloud service SmugMug, where I probably have 30000+images over the last forty and more years, and I post in forums via links to the appropriate file. That workflow does indeed take some work, but SmugMug is a good backup to my local hard disk and gives me lots of options for sharing.

I tried posting from my Google Cloud Sercice, but all I got was the little icon above. One can click it to see photos, but it's not very reader friendly....

I often use photos from my phone but host them in an Album here. It may depend on what you are doing as to how you post them.
