I saw that today is Harbor Freight's last day of having E-Track on sale. I'd like to see how people use this stuff. Do you have it in a trailer? Mounted on your wall in the garage? I'd like to see ideas for projects. It seems like helpful/useful stuff, but I'm not ready to work on my trailer yet.

yeah e-track is solid for a rack setup. i was gonna do it on mine but ended up going with a different carrier. way easier to install than i thought tho. just make sure u get the right gauge if you're planning to load it heavy. my buddy's rack flexed way too much before he upgraded his brackets. what kinda gear you planning to throw on there?
I'm looking to "restore" a utility trailer and lengthen it and add more decking. It would likely be tubs for camping gear or smaller stuff like kid's bikes all the way up to furniture. I don't plan to use it to hold down a car or something truly heavy, just smaller stuff. Perhaps old machinery at the heaviest (think bandsaws, or other types of stuff like that).

I was also thinking it might make for an easy way to store stuff on walls that might be better off suspended or strapped down. Not sure yet really. Its cheap and I guess I could return it if I don't find a use for it in the next little while.

at least one row of etrak all the way around an enclosed trailer is a must. then get an assortment of straps, hooks, rings followed by a spare tire carrier and a garbage can that all work with etrak, thank me later.

my semi water trailer has several rows in it. there are always pallets of chemical, seed and chemical totes to be fastened down,

I have it installed on the floor of the small tilt trailer. It makes quick work of strapping the gator or atv in place. I doubled up the rear pieces as they vary in width. Oh so easy to use.

Like commercial truck part suppliers? It's expensive to ship at length...
Yes, but you pick them up at the store. They're basically just a NAPA for truck parts. They're the same place I buy filters and stuff for my diesel pusher motorhome. Most decent sized towns have one.

I only have an open trailer, but I'm considering using a few rows on the deck and then if I build sidewalls, adding it in a perimeter for just those purposes. I have to haul my riding mower to a repair shop and it will help keep it from bouncing around.
Just make sure your walls can handle it if you attach. Good stuff and handy.
I'll be building sidewalls either from tube steel or pressure treated 2x4s.

This is exactly what I have in mind. What do you mean by "doubled up"? Do you mean tracks running side by side?
Don't buy e-track at places like Harbor Freight. You can buy it from truck part suppliers in 10' lengths for a fraction of the price.
At $15 for their strip, how much cheaper can it get? I also don't have a trailer that is 10'+ in length, so these sizes seem more practical. I will look for a truck supply place like that just for reference. Any idea of a brand name I should search so I can find it locally?
Two rows in one of my enclosed trailers, very handy.
Great to hear!
I mainly use it in the trailer to provide strap points for cargo I don't want to move around:

I converted the cargo trailer to an "toy hauler" - I use e-track for a bed frame. I can raise the bed up to the ceiling.

There are a few posts floating in the internet showing the bedframe style or work bench type usage. Quite ingenious!

I missed the sale, but I'll keep my eyes out for similar deals in the future. I think this will be a worthwhile rabbit hole to run down, thank you!

My pickup (F-150) came with some E-Track style tie down points. They were useful, but I didn't like the way the accessories clipped in to them. I replaced them with some standard E-track mounts and like them, so I eventually mounted a couple more mid bed.

Over the last month I've been moving some of my shop equipment to my new house, and I've been really abusing the tie down points I have (winching things up a ramp into the bed) so I decided to spring for a Z-Trak that mounts across the front of the bed. It appears really well made and mounted to the bed with plus nuts it feels really solid.

F150 ... if aluminum bed, be careful with steel fasteners for your e track to avoid galvanic corrosion.

Thanks. I did think about that, but all the plus nuts are zinc plated and the bolts are stainless, plus I live in a dry climate and I have a bed cover, so hopefully that won't cause a problem until well after the life of the truck.
