Hi All,
I have been contemplating a lift for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger on this lift.
https://www.eagleequip.com/product/MTP-9A.html ($1495.00)
I know everyone says to buy a Bendpack or more so any ALI certified lift and although I appreciate why I choose not to...
Anyway, in case others are on the fence and looking at the Eagle lift I can give you my opinion on the quality and installation process.
So the quality, it seems excellent, in fact my neighbor has an Atlas Certified Apex 10 and in comparison they look nearly identical. The steel is the same thickness, the welds look of the same quality or better on the Eagle and I like the cross bar on the Eagle better, it's one solid steel piece vs a thin bolted together channel. I think the solid piece would provide better support between the posts. This thing is very stout...
As for the install process, it was fine, i did it by myself which I do not recommend... It took me 3 days on and off in the evening. The directions were easy to follow and fairly complete, there was one small step missing but it was obvious to spot along the way.
Overall I am very happy. I did ask the sales rep about the ALI certification and I was told that "this lift and their certified 10K lift are nearly identical and they they did not submit this lift for certification so that they could keep the price point in the range of the average hobbyist" I am sure they would say anything to get me to buy the lift but I understand this reason, certification is expensive.
Lastly, so far I have had to call them 3 times for support on the installation (partly due to the fact that I was alone) but I had no trouble getting a hold of someone and they were very helpful.
