Hi,

Looking for a set of the Malco thin eagle grips.

I know they were limited through Amazon so maybe have missed the boat, does anyone know a source ?

Thanks!

Epstein doesn't have them. That's a tough one. Even ebay doesn't seem to have any. It's been a while but in the heat of the whole debacle, I seem to recall they showed up late on the scene, as if maybe Malco wasn't as far into production on those as the other models when they shut it down. Maybe they just made fewer of them.

I already have those Snap on branded ones, along with all the other options.

The thin jaw ones are really handy for anti rollbar droplinks (sway bar i think its called in America)

I have the Grip on rebranded Snap on one of those too but the release lever has bent again like they always do on the grip ons.

I didn't realize there was a jaw thickness difference between them.
I saw the almost identical part number (one letter difference) and figured it was the same tool.

The thin-jaw Malcos disappeared earlier than the others. I hadn't seen that Epstein had run out of them. My last batch were shipped in a Malco box that had 200 pairs inside (or something like that)

I’ll second this. Anyone know of a place still selling the thin jaw? I have plenty of the others but none of the thin.

They are absolutely FANTASTIC for that application. I have a set at school and at home. I'm hoping Snap On eventually produces them.....warranty would be AWESOME!

Unless different than originally stated they only released the two sizes of Eagle Grip thin jaws through Amazon and no where else. These were released after they closed the factory and discontinued product which once again made no since at all. Epstein's has the other sixes for sure.

Reading the reviews of that seller some say they ordered Malco and got Irwin. 18% 1 star reviews is pretty high...tread lightly.
I was going to order a set until you pointed that out. I think instead I'm going to buy a pair from Epstein's for 30% of what he has those listed for and spend 20 minutes with my old surface grinder that has been sitting on used for years.

Not to detail, but how are the eagle grip locking pliers with the “feet”? I do weld sometimes and these seem like they would be useful for certain odd size materials.

I have several of the standard straight and curved jaw pairs, but since these WILL eventually go away, I was going to order a few of these.

I bought a set of Eagle Grip Lp10R - first and only time I used them a huge chunk of chrome plating flaked off the jaw area, guess the warranty is not a lot of use now!

Yikes. The pairs I’ve used for welding and other hot work haven’t had any issues with shed. I wonder if it’s worth trying to contact them for warranty? Maybe you’ll get a snap on version in the mail. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

They work fantastic. Only problem is they are almost too nice to mar up welding.
This, exactly this. I was going to toss out the Knipex locking pliers when I got the Malcos because I hate them so much, but I relegated them to welding duty. They still ****, but I don't mind ruining them. Kinda enjoy it actually. Can't really make them any worse.

Does anyone know definitively whats happening with the other grips now ? Surely Snap On must have bought the design/rights as they are producing them themselves now.
