Eagle Industrial Compressor - Control Box Question.

Purchased a Older Eagle Air Compressor - It came with a Allen Bradley Control Box. Off to a bad start when we connected it mistakenly to 120V instead 240V. With that sorted the Compressor runs fine but the Control Box doesn't seem to do much in the way of control. The unit hasn't been in operation for about 3 years. The On/Off has no effect, when I throw the 30 Amp Breaker the Compressor Starts and Runs but pressurizes to about 135 PSI and goes of on the relief valve while the Compressor continues to pump. Can some explain what the Control Box does specifically? I'm by far no expert on those mag switches , someone with far mor eexperience will chime in , I'm sure.
but it's function is to control the motor . it gets current from the pressure switch on the side of the tank to activate .
I would be checking the pressure switch for proper operation first , to make sure it's opening & closing the circuit

edit: looks like you've wired it with no ground connected. I'm guessing you've wired the on off switch in such a way the pressure switch is in operational

Appreciated. Sorry, I think I've answered my own question. I've wired the 12/2 on the wrong side of the Contractor. I've bypassed the whole circuitry. Can someone confirm I need to place the power source on T1 (2) & T2 (4) ? Thanks!

Power goes to L1 and L2.

Usually with an iec overload it will want current on all three lines or it trips on phase loss. The work around for 1 phase is to connect T2 to L3.

The motor then connects to T1 and T3

Usually with an iec overload it will want current on all three lines or it trips on phase loss. The work around for 1 phase is to connect T2 to L3.

The motor then connects to T1 and T3
Ok, so take the feed up top to L1 & L2?

Just curious when would T1 & T2 come into play on the bottom side of the Contactor?

I have not done this for a long time, but I think power comes in on L, and out on T. With the power off, push on the black button in the center, you should see continuity between each L and T set of terminals .
