Had an Eagle lift in my old shop bought it new and used it daily for 5 years and never had a problem with it .Bill

I Have a Eagle SS7000 lift for around 10 yrs or so! Have moved it three time, and I haven't had any problems with it at all!

I imagine some parts of it are not made in the USA! The one consideration when looking at lifts are the size of the hydraulic piston, length of the piston, along with travel length. The longer skinny cylinders have a tendency to flex more, and will frequently leak! As for maintenance, just oil the pulleys each month.

I would think the only items that would fail would be the hydraulic piston, followed by the 10 rollers, followed by the cables, and pump. All these items can be replaced from multiple suppliers should Eagle fail and go under!

The good news is they are still in business. A number of lift companies have gone out of business since I purchased mine. In the coming yrs. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more go out of business................

That's the answer I was expecting Perry...... I've been looking around the internet for months and have been finding this about USA Lift companies:
Either they went belly up or they started buying their lower end ones from China and build the higher end ones here (like for buses).
Every time I 'discover' another lift company, I google for threads on forums and the older threads ('05-'06) say they are USA and then I find out they're now coming from China.

I will be putting an Eagle Lift (FP12 I believe) in my barn. It is currently setup in my dad's warehouse, and we've had no complaints about it except that my dad chose the wrong place for it (not a straight shot). Seems to be sturdily built, but then again it is rated at 12,000 lbs, so it aught to be.

I have a 9000 lb two post. As far as I can tell, it was built in China. The only complaint I have with the lift construction is the crappy Chinese nuts and bolts, which got replaced when I assembled it. It works well, but I suspect the rating of 9000 lb may be optimistic. For example, it requires 20 amp power, when most other lifts of this capacity that I've seen need 30 amps.

Had I not gotten it in a trade, I probably wouldn't own it. That said, it is a great addition to my shop.

I bought an US made lift couple years ago. Asymmetrical, 10 000lbs... When I received it the opposite lock release was damaged. I called and was forwarded to the Shop foreman who took my parts list and promptly sent me the needed parts. He assured me all the welding/painting/assembly was all done in the US. The hydraulic cylinders are Canadian and electric motor from Mexico.

The lift was $300-500 more than the similar Chinese made lifts, but well worth it.
