What is the consensus on 4 post Eagle lifts - good or bad for a home hobbyist? Would like to hear from those who have personal experience with them.

We are not truck/suv people so I will never lift anything more than 6000 lbs. I will be more comfortable with a 4 post lift, with rolling jacks, over of a 2 post lift.

This year, Eagle lifts will be local to me. Is it worth buying locally?

Thanks.

My father put up an eagle 8000# four post about 8 years ago. It worked great for his use, small cars, a couple old car restorations, and picking up lawn mowers. One cable loosened or stretched after a couple of years, which caused it to come off the pulley and become frayed quickly. They had the cable in stock when he called them and he was back running in a few days. All in all, it was a pretty good little lift in my opinion.

I have two Eagle lifts, both 8,000 lb but one of them is the extra tall model, purchased five years ago. I have no complaints with them. The smaller one is used for car storage and the other for work, mostly on antique cars and oil changes for our Yukon and Buick Enclave. I like the interior post locks and the ability to adjust them as the cables stretch over time.
