Ran into a pair of Ryobi headphones at Home Depot today. Anyone use these? Is there something better out there? Reviews seem to say they're not very good, heavy and no bass.

If the wires going between your head and the earmuffs doesn't annoy you, get some nice sennheiser ear buds and just put the hearing protection over them. I have some and they sound amazing for little earbuds, they even have bass too!

The prices on amazon are always cheaper than what they list as retail.

Sennheiser is basically the best headphone / earbud company ever. Compared to every other brand they are even super cheap! A pair of their $30 headphones sound better, are more comfortable, and more durable than most other brands $100 ones.

Edit: I actually found that I dislike all earbuds in general because I found out my right ear canal is smaller than my left, so they always fit great in my left ear, but tend to fall out of my right. So that's why I haven't used mine in a long time and this thread made me curious about them again so I tried them out. Yep, they still sound outstanding. Every time I wear them I can't believe that sound is coming from earbuds. I think mine are an outdated version of the "CX" model line.

I've got these as well, really like them, great sound, and even without muffs on top of them they block alot of sound. The wires are annoying when I am doing yard work though and I have caught them a number of times on different things. I now run them down the back of my shirt to my shuffle clipped on my belt.

Thanks guys! Any of these limit decibels? I currently use a nice pair of ear buds and a pair of ear muffs over them. But, 14 hour days leave my ears tired.

Short of getting custom molded IEMs theres the new Comply tips. They claim they become 30x softer than silicone

All IEMs reduce sound. You could also try a noise cancelling headphone like Bose Quietcomfort 15.

Sleek Audio SA6/7 with the wireless kit is pretty damn good for sound quality. I used them for a couple of weeks before returning them due to the receiver being too flimsy while plugged into my phone. It was a mechanical hardware issue but I decided that switching to full sized wireless headphones was a better option for me.
