I picked this vise up at an auction a few weeks ago. It looks to me like it is an early Chas. Parker vise because the design of the jaws looks like all of the other Parker vises I have seen. But it doesn't have any markings on it anywhere that I can find. Does anybody recognize it?

Doesn't really look like a Parker to me, even that retainer looks like someone may have added it. Better pics might help.

Looks like a Parker to me. The flower shaped base looks just like one I have. The jaws are much thinner, more delicate than mine. Must have been built for some specialized purpose.

Looks pretty well used. I'd take it apart, wire brush it off, spray some paint on, lube it up and bolt it down and use it. Looks like it could use a set of jaw faces.

Looks like a Parker to me base upon the shape of the base. I'd call it a coach makers vise though the jaw opening is a little less than most of those. Looks like the cast retainer has been broken and maybe when yo get it cleaned up you'll be able to see part of "PARKER" or "C. PARKER" on it.

It looks like a Parker to me. The jaws look like an old Parker carriagemakers vise I have. The collar mech looks like the one on my grinder room Parker. On that vise, there are no cast names, but there are dates and names stamped into the jaws. It also has the early collar design where the screw goes in from above. Mine was missing also but I made a replacement from walnut.

So carefully brush the top of the jaws and see if you can find pins and/or stampings.
