I am cleaning up my shop and getting rid of stuff I no longer use and found a 1957 or so circular saw in its' original metal case. It belonged to my Dad and has had little use for its' age. Dad used to build a couple of houses back in the 50s and 60s. Case opened up maybe once a year since for odd jobs.

Anyway, I don't need it as by today's standards it is heavy for a 6 1/2"saw.

Is there any interest in collecting vintage tools like this???

Yeah, they are a reminder of a time and a technology. If it still works - even better :). Why not hand onto it and use it if it's still serviceable.

hell yes they are collectable to people:shocking:
check e bay, people LOVE vintage craftsman. If the saw works which I guess it does, The extra weight is a good thing, it helps keep you in a straight line.
Is it aluminum? Why would you sell it:headscrat it was built to last a couple lifetimes and is guaranteed highest quality.

If you prefer a smaller lighter saw great, tuck your father's saw away in a nice dry safe spot, if not contact me, I have a dry safe spot for your DAD'S saw
