I have a chance to buy what the seller describes as a set of early Snap On tool boxes. Apparently there is some minor surface rust, but nothing is rotted through and the drawers are all supposed to work like they should. Does this actually look like a snap on box set? If it does, can anyone make an educated guess about which model numbers we are looking at here? Based on the attached photo (which is all I have) what would you think would be a fair price for the boxes? Thanks for any help you can provide.

They look like MBC boxes made for Snap On in the '60s. Personally, I wouldn't offer much because it will be a lot of work to restore them. I'd probably offer $50 and wouldn't pay over $75 tops.

Anywhere from $50-100 would be fair based on the picture, in my opinion.

I think that it is a KR-377. They made them in the late 1940's to around 1960. I have one that I picked up in a similar state. It is a very solid box. Make sure that the drawers work properly as the drawer slides can no longer be purchased.

I've got one like the top box, but it's badged as Williams. I paid $50 for it, in better condition than that one. It's a good box, I'd pay more for it today than that. I wouldn't pay more than $100 to $125 for the pair that you show there, and only if I really needed them. At my point in life, I'd pass them up and leave them for someone who needs them a lot more than I do.
