Early Weaver hydraulic jack help needed

I purchased this some years ago, and decided lately to drag it out of storage and restore it. It appeared to be an early WA-72, but the jack varied from the exploded diagrams on both the Castle and Weaver web pages.

Other than needing a seal kit, it appeared that the other issue with the unit was that it fails to restore either the handle or the foot lever to an upright position after pumping.

I spoke with Castle who sent me to the “factory” at Weaver, who in turn were very helpful in sourcing what appeared to be the parts that were missing. So, prior to tearing the jack down for a full rebuild, I’m trying to assemble the unit completely with the new parts to make sure that it’s functioning. And here’s the snag...

Based on conversations with the folks at the factory, the unit appears to be an early two ton, perhaps a thirties vintage. It would seem that the return mechanisms for the footlever and the handle were configured differently than they are today, and I need to basically update the jack to a newer version using the parts that are available, but I cannot find a picture of the underside of an assembled unit anywhere. Can anyone assist?

Here are a couple of before pictures, including the underside with no return spring rods or springs....

And here is a shot with the new parts “Mocked up” without the return springs for clarity. I believe I need to weld a couple of brackets, one for the handle rod, and one for the pump rod, but need a picture of what it should look like...

Here’s a shot of the serial number on the cylinder.... the gentlemen at Weaver that I spoke to said that he had never seen one with a four digit number with no additional letters or jack capacity indicated....
