Easiest path to convert fluorescent to LED

I have several older fixtures that I'm hoping to convert to do away with the ballasts. I've read a dozen threads, watched videos on the youtube. And I think I understand what to do.

My understanding is all I need to do is connect the hot to all four pins on one end and the neutral to all four pins on the other.

But when I shop locally for bulbs all I'm finding is "toggled" that require new tombstones and more rewiring, or bulbs that require a ballast in line.

What do I have wrong?

attached is a pic of my tombstones.

I think it depends on the LED tube. I just replaced 200 of them in my shop. I removed the transformer and then tied all the wire on the one side to the "HOT" and all the wire on the other side to the "NEUTRAL" and all worked fine.

But I have seen different tubes with the Hot and Neutral on the same end.

redpines, you need to ask for a "double-end powered" tube. Alot of folks dont even know they exist yet. Much easier to install and no socket issues. You'll find them on the internet or at a local electrical supply house.
Good luck,

Thanks. I need to find the right tubes.

I found these instructions. Seems I need to know if my tombstones are shunted or not. How do I determine that?

If they are not shunted, do I connect hot & neutral to both pins on the bulb (opposite ends) or just one pin per end?

You dont need to worry about it. The double-end tube will work with either shunted or non-shunted. We can walk you through it. It's really easy.
You're going to have black and white wires coming into the fixture. You're going to have all the sockets on one end connected to black and all the sockets on the other end connected to white.

The instructions you linked to are simply warning you to not bring black and white to the same socket. You wont be doing that.

Ok, got it. Connect hot to all four pins (2 bulbs) on one end and neutral to all four on the other end.

And get double ended bulbs.

Thank you
