So I am building a 1967 F100 with a compound turbo 4 cylinder cummins diesel. I needed to bead roll some aluminum intercooler piping so the boots would stay on. I have a Eastwood(china) bead roller that I use occasionally when making sheetmetal parts so I figured I would see if I could put a bead on the 3 inch piping. It worked but as I was rolling the pipe the dies would come off center from the steel flexing on the bead roller. As the pipe would turn the top roller would wand to roll with the pipe because the steel would flex. Also, I got tired of the crappy little (metric thread) pressure adjustment screw. With that being said, I decided to cut off the cheesy little adjustment screw and weld on a 1.5 x .5 steel bar then drill and tap a hole for a 1/2-13 allen head bolt. Then I cut some 5/16 scrap steel I had and welded it to the plat to stiffen it up. Finally, I painted it hammer-tone gray and got a steel handle to replace the plastic piece of ****. So there ya go; my new and improved Eastwood(hybrid) bead roller.
