I've been casually thinking about picking up the HF floor-standing blasting cabinet that goes for about $175 on sale, I believe. I'm not in a hurry. My needs are mainly for blasting small parts for when I restore stuff like vises, planes - nothing too big. I came across a CL ad wanting $250 obo for this 'Eastwood blasting cabinet, 34 in width, dual door, foot control air, Good condition'. Is that a substantial upgrade over the HF model?

In a word - yes. The HF models can be made to service well, but typically a lot of extra work is required by the owner to seal up poorly fitting panels to prevent leaks, etc.

The equivalent Eastwood model today is about $380. Additionally, the HF cabinet is going to come with a bottom-of-the-line trigger-operated gun. A foot-operated gun is WAY more comfortable to use for long sessions.
