i've no need for a flaring tool, but that one looks really cool. Nice design, the video was worth the watch.

The tool seems to get pretty good reviews, has it always been made in China?

Probably. Most of Eastwood's stuff is made in China or Taiwan. One nice thing about them is they definitely stand behind their products, warranty issues are never a problem with Eastwood.

It's a great tool. I'm glad I bought it.
FYI.
It's a rebadged tool. You may find a better price with a different name on it.

From my quick search it looks like the other versions cost ~200 so this is still a good deal. Now the real question is is the mastercool 71475 worth an extra $120...

I'll tell anyone who will listen there's just no way the reviews on Eastwood's site are not censored. Either that or their entire client base is dumb as rocks (unlikely).

The reviews on their 135 MIG are mostly glowing and that welder is a POS. There's just no way so many people love that machine, it's like a tinker toy and barely works.

NOW, the tool in question here is VERY different from a welder, so it very well may be a good, functioning tool. I'm merely here to say don't rely on their reviews.

And yeah, I've been eyeing the full Mastercool set for years, just never can justify it. I considered this deal just to try it but can't really justify it right now either.

I kept telling myself that as I struggled to get consistent good flares using the c-clamp type tool. When I finally was ordered by She who must be obeyed to spend the money and get the damn job done already ... I caught a sale not as good as this one. $50 off so $200. The time saved at $20/h easily paid for the tool. I kid not when I say my 9 year old couldn't make a bad one.

Well when i seen the eastwood was made in china not buying that! So i looked everywhere to see where masterful makes theirs.couldn't find an answer thats fishy.so i googled usa made flaring tools.came up with Surrauto.akron ohio.read up on different models ,read reviews from professional techs and buyers.several options but better reviews, support, options, quality etc than eastwood or m astercool! Ft 351 kit i bought 70 dollars higher than eastwood.and from my observation more versatile made in usa not a hard choice for me!

Eastwood definitely does sensor their ratings. A while back I wrote about their 2k spray paints. I said it was good stuff but that Eastwoood needs to do a better job Disclosing the safety requirements for using isocyanate based paints. They rejected it as inappropriate.

No sorry, from a s 3 galaxy. Its a good phone but out dated and i cant or dont know how to override the auto correct.it also won't let me copy and paste links or im not doing that right either lol.also if you google surrauto, they have other kits and other service tools also.a z 45 asked about benders.i have several different types but i get the best performance from my rigid tools.i have them in specific sizes.there are probably some multi sized benders available but from researching flaring tools i.e. surrauto i found that there is brake line available that is bendable by hand and meets the same specs as oem.that was interesting also, i found another co.that make line like that when i googled brake line flaring tools made in usa.ill go look again and post the name of that company!

Fed hill usa.com no spaces auto correct on my phone. This company has brake line that surpasses the stuff sold from china,India and mexico.at least according to the specifications on their website.their line is heavier wall thickness and less rigid.they have a video of their flaring tool,it looks to be a higher quality than the eastwood per the video.ive used a master cool it worked for what i worked on but those were simple flares.this company seems oriented for someone who either restores cars,or does complete brake line jobs.although if the pricing on the line justifies the quality some guys wouldnt hesitate to buy it.i know the price on their flaring tool is around 330! These products are made in England and are very likely produced to meet higher specifications and standards.im going to do some more research on the brake line pricing.

Didn't mean to sound critical ( I'm sure I did ) just a little ball busting . I have the same problems with my S4. Too cheap to spring for a better phone

Thanks for the other info

Made in china...I had in my cart, now it's empty.

ignorance is NOT bliss.

I have used and tested that tool, great well made tool better than the mastercool sets.... only one disadvantage is that it is not portable and work best only mounted. so if you do your brake lines on bench only then it won't be any issues at all... it really takes skills to screw up a flare on that tool.

The FedHill one is similiar design, I think that was a British made.... I only get ISO fittings from them. Well stocked.

What are you guys using for a bender?

for minor bends, that I just needed to nutch it in place to get a fit, I used this... but any deep bend this tool distorts the tubing.

http://www.eastwood.com/ew-brake-fo...e=&network=g&gclid=CJKI7ZvKuc8CFYlbhgodOTcMAQ

for anything else deeper than a minor bends like 90, 45 ,30 etc...
No kinks or distortions on the bends... but you have to make sure you are familiar with the bend allowances or with that tool... or the start line....

http://www.eastwood.com/triple-head...der-3-16-3-8-in.html?reltype=2&parent_id=1363

there are other ppl that also mades these benders, but I just get them from the same place as the flaring tool at the same time since I needed it.... end up returning the flaring tool because I needed it to work at the car for repair as well..... No hassle with returns. that was a good thing I have to say about Eastwood.

I know i to spring for a new phone zeek h! Im looking forward to receiving my flaring tool from surrauto.from all the research ive done 0 negative feedback great reviews! Costs a little more than the eastwood, less than the mastercool.the surrauto is usa made and the support is excellent.also they do fuel, air conditioning, transmission.and i also checked out their ultra bend brake line.usa made lifetime warranty! It manufactured with a .028 wall thickness which is heavier than the import stuff bought online or at parts stores.so i compared a 25 ft kit with fittings to advance auto virtually the same price@75 dollars.every review i read on their product was great.there was one glitch where a guy bought their brake line and he had the eastwood turret flaring tool.he had trouble making flares on the heavier wall tubing.as far as the other tools im sure the eastwood is a good tool but it has drawbacks according to some posts and reviews and eastwood overall customer service.plus its made in china! Ive borrowed the mastercool its a good tool but its a 100 at least higher and they dont have tubing available.plus i looked hi and low and couldnt find anywhere where the country of origin.that tells me overseas.ill post a thread on the quality and how well the surrauto tool performs.if its not what my expectations are ill say so.
