I received an Eastwood catalog recently and noticed their prices seem low compared to other equipment I've heard of (welders, plasma, metal working tools, etc.) I was just wondering how is their quality, anyone use their stuff?

I wouldnt personally recommend them...we had two of thier TIG welders at our shop earlier this year. Both had troubles and were sent back. Must say they were very good about refunding and getting shipping arrainged.

Thought I posted a reply earlier....I like Eastwood, though they do a fair amount of rebadging. Their 120V Mig welder has received good reviews here before (COO of China I'm sure, not surprising given the price point) though 2VSal's comments should be kept in mind as well. Like him, I've had very good service with them.

I have a few of their paint guns, pliers and clamps and have no complaints about them. I've also bought some of their chemical products, such as their rust converter and their chassis black paint and they've worked fine. The pricer stuff like the plasma cutter I couldn't say. I definitely like the free shipping they've done lately, that was always a sore spot for me. They charged a little too much IMO.

They've done a TIG welder and plasma cutter combo for $1000, which got tongues wagging here a while ago, but I don't know anyone who bought those in the end. In general Eastwood doesn't give anything away-- I should know since I receive emails from them touting 10% off sales all the time.

Schurkey is dead on the money. Your paying for the simplicity of one stop shopping. The products are decent, but can be found just about anywere for less. Keith

Their paints etc are relabeled Hirsch products... & a bunch of their other stuff is relabeled HF **** with up to a 400% price increase.
