Eastwood has made a big splash with their SCT, but this type of tool is called a Linear Finishing Tool and has been available from other sources for a while. Those industrial grade tools are considerably more expensive and probably better built. Eastwood's power tools tend to be Chinesium. Expect a clone from HF in six months or less for about half price. I'll wait for that one.
Eastwood's recent video claims about five of the expensive drums were needed to strip and condition a 1950s Chevy pickup cab.
That's awesome. i didn't know Eastwood made one of those. I've been drooling over the Metabo burnisher for a while now but just haven't been able to talk myself into the $600 for it. I'll grab one of these in a few months and try it out.
I wonder if all the Metabo wheels will fit on it...
One of these days I'm going to get one. I've been using both my belt grinder with 2"W scotch bright belts and my 6x48 belt sander with SB belts for years to do this. But it's insanely difficult to get a uniform grain on wide pieces using the belt sander since you can't see the cut as you're sanding.
I was gonna buy one this morning but remembered there was a thread on it or the Metabo somewhere here... what puts me off is the crazy cost of the consumables, and the single source, that will keep prices high.
