Started messing with my Eastwood Shrinker/Stretcher today. Immediately I realized making compound curves is time consuming.

Mainly from removing the 8 screws to switch the jaws. Any ideas on how to make something to do a quick change?

I was thinking about cutting the back of the slots out. That would eliminate having to remove the screws completely.

Would the jaws still be removeable if you cut out the slots at the end of the jaws?

Then you don't have to remove the screws only loosen them.

You could also dedicate a 1/4" drive palm ratchet with a hex bit for the screws. I seem to recall there isn't enough room for thumbs screws on those S & S's. I feel that the slotted screw holes should speed things up as well. Harry

I have the separate shrinker/ strectcher from Eastwood, and that's how the jaws guides in those are, slotted, and I haven't had any issues with them coming loose.

I also like the stand and foot pedal

My Woodward Fab Shrinker/Stretcher uses slots for the jaws and thumb screws to hold them in. Slot out the holes on your jaws and get some thumb screws. I still plan to get another body so the work goes quicker. :)

Thanks for the input.

Right now, I don't use it enough to invest in another one. Ill try the thumb screws and slots.

Thanks for the comments on the stand. I wanted something I could mount to my fab table and hang on the wall when not in use to save on space.
