I have and it actually welds steel and stainless well, but since you have to wait you might want to look at AC/DC machines that are capable of aluminum too. I have a Miller Maxstar DC only and it is great but I find myself using my Diversion much more because I can handle any material with it. Not saying you will be unhappy just that if you think aluminum will be potential projects I'd consider another machine.

I have almost zero desire to weld aluminum. In 20+ years of fabrication, I can count on one hand the number of times I've said I wish I could weld aluminum. In college, I had to learn to weld aluminum for the machine shop I worked in. At one point I could section a soda can and put it back together. That was many years ago and that skill set is long gone. With as infrequently as I desire to weld aluminum I'm generally better off paying a professional.

I am slightly concerned by the limits of adjustability and the quality of the arc on a Chinese inverter tig.
