I got an emailer from them too. Those wrenches look interesting.

I wonder if their external torque adapter could serve as a $50 torque wrench calibration checker? Hook it up to the ratcheting end, set your torque wrench setting, and see what value the adapter says when the click occurs?

Someone in China.
From what I've seen Eastwood takes imported stuff and puts a premium price on it.

I had some gift cards that were expiring and bought the torque adapter. Seems interesting, I'll try it out and report back on how it works.

Be happy to hear what you find out, thanks for reporting back when the time comes.

Hate to resurrect an old thread but these Eastwood torque wrench have me curious. The torque angle is what I'm not sure about. Is this for what we call the torque turn? Like you torque a bolt to say 100 ft lbs then turn it 60 degrees?

That angle adapter looks interesting. Yes that looks like a a way to do torque to yield but for cheap. I have read those electronic torque adapters are actually very very accurate. I'm definitely going to buy one, I've book marked this thread and will be following up on it.

I just placed one for $49.99 in my basket. Make sure you get the 5-button unit that has Audible alarm too. As you torque the adapter will turn and you may not be able to see the LCD display to stop at specified torque.

I wonder if the trucks will rebrand the $50 unit and mark it up to $700 like some prices I have seen? How do we check the accuratcy of these units? Snappy?

I'm curious about the torque wrenches themselves. I wonder who actually makes them, and who else rebrands them.

Anyone hands-on with these yet?

$90 for a digital torque/angle wrench is pretty tempting, but I'm wary about being the first one in the pool.

i talked to eastwood today, the torque wrench comes with a 1 year warranty, the 3/8 does ft lbs, nm, and inch lbs, it comes with the calibration certificate storage case, it is made overseas but to there specs and is ISO 9001 approved calibration. I'm going to buy one of the 3/8 ones. I would have bought the 1/2 but already bought a gearwrench one off a fellow member.

We seem to be talking about 2 different types of products here. Eastwood shows the electronic devices, with and without angle function, and the 4 mechanical wrenches.Which ones are we discussing? I am curious about the mechanical wrenches. Since they only work clockwise and do not have to be turned down to zero to maintain accuracy and claim long term accuracy, they seem to be split beam and not coil spring clickers, in spite of the fact that they use clicker style rotary adjustment instead of the linear slider common to most split beam wrenches. They claim 3% accuracy. Anybody have any experience with them?
