I have a 16mm ratchet wrench that broke the other day. I stopped by Sears after work, but they no longer carry individual Gearwrench ratchet wrenches. The employee told me to go on to Craftsman.com and message them through Customer Care. Although that did not work and I never received a return email, I went to Geawrench.com and sent an email directly to Apex. With in a day they responded and sent me a prepaid shipping label for UPS. This is the second time I have done this through Apex. In some cases I've heard they send you a replacement tool without needing the old one in return. Just thought I would share since a lot of people seem to have trouble getting items replaced.

Advance always says they need a receipt but I guess it depends who you talk to. I only ever tried sockets & when they cost $3 it's not worth arguing

I usually just return them to Advance, which is where all my GW came from. I did try apex once when Advance didn't have the identical ratchet in stock. I got the runaround from Apex, so I went back to Advance and swapped for whatever they had on the shelf.

Usually advance aswell for standard gearwrench or tool trucks that come by but adv is easiest to warranty for me

I bought a metric 3/8 drive set off amazon and the 13mm was not knurled like the rest. I called gearwrech directly and they just sent another socket. so now I have a matching set and a bonus 13mm socket. I am very pleased with the set and service.

Went to sears yesterday, they never have what I am looking for, I need to just stop going in.

My experience hasn't been nearly this good. I broke a Gearwrench screwdriver a few weeks ago and Advance doesn't carry them in that large of a size. I called Apex and they required that I send it back on my dime. So $4 later (probably over half of what I paid for the screwdriver) I finally have it on the way to them. Here I am a week after it got there and still haven't heard anything or received a replacement. Overall, I was very disappointed with this service. I ended up buying a Snap On set last weekend to replace these and the quality difference is huge, and I'll probably actually be able to get a replacement should I ever need it. Without spending a large portion of the cost of a new one to ship it back.

Local NAPA does all my GW warranty.

I actually stopped at Napa today and they will have my new one tomorrow morning. Easier than mailing it out.

On another note, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Check this out

I think they're in the midst of yet another factory move. You'll eventually get your screwdriver--if they don't lose it.

Shouldn't affect gearwrench though. Their Taiwan/China plants have not moved, only their USA ones for Matco/Armstrong/Allen/Masterforce.
