Bluebird engine hoists are used primarily by rental facilities. There are thousands of them out there. They are very solidly constructed and assemble/dis-assemble quickly without tools. The problem is that if you don't have a Bluebird storage cart, you have to lean the parts up in a corner or stack them in a pile somewhere. The Bluebird carts are all but unavailable used, and while they are still being made, they cost over $1,400.
My solution was to fabricate 24" long substitutes for the regular legs on the hoist. Short, slightly larger tubing stubs are welded vertically on the substitute legs to accommodate the various parts of the hoist. The whole thing stores neatly into a package with a 24" x 42" footprint. It is fully mobile with two stationary casters in addition to the two factory swiveling casters. It can easily be rolled into a storage location and rolled back out when needed.
