Hey All! Im installing my sub panel in my garage. its a 100 amp eaton cutler hammer type br. When we went to wire it, we noticed both bus bars were connected by a metal plate that ran behind the main center bar. Now in my freinds box, there a dissconnect so you can make one bar a neutral and one bar a ground. In MY box however there is no dissconnect, the bar is premenently attatched it seems like. The only option is a small lever that is screwed to the box next to the bar on the right that can be removed or inserted into the bar. Any Idea what Im supposed to do with this?

Right now Ive got the two hots into the main breaker, a neutral into the neutral bar, and would have a ground into a seperate ground bar. unless neutrual and ground are supposed to be bonded.

You need to remove the ground bonding screw clip from the existing bar that bonds it to the case and purchase a separate ground bar that will be bonded to the case. Keep the neutrals and grounds isolated from each other in sub-panels.
