eaves trim. Is it usually standard on pole barns?

When my walls were put up they did not put up eaves trim. I paid the extra money for 3" insulation, windows, heavier metal. .
I thought it was standard?? When adding the options would they have not said do not forget your eaves trim?? I am waiting on a call now to get this sorted out. I'm very happy other than this detail.

I looked around town and the other buildings all have this. My theory was it wasn't in the supplies so it got put on without it.
Is is eaves trim usually standard? the cheaper building down the road on the right has it.

This maybe an honest mistake and if I have to I want to add it. It looks like I have to undo the roof some and slide it in. Or is there something else I should do? I do not like the idea of the wind going up in there or birds and what ever nesting on the edges of the insulation.

I have seen them built both ways. I think it is what the builder decides.
Does the builder have a website you can look at to see how they have done others?

I am going through the same thing. J was quoted a building like you have and luckily I went up to the place and looked at the model building. I opted for 18" overhangs

As said....no standard. You would think that all this would be written out in some kind of contract and this way everyone would know what to expect and what they would have to do.... Ya get what you pay for I guess.

There was a contract nothing mentioned about eaves.

My experience so far is nothing is standard, and almost every desirable feature is considered an upgrade that you must pay extra for.

I've been shopping recently and can confirm that builders are all over the place on this. Some include it, some charge extra. It's fine the way it is as far as function. If you don't like the way it looks I doubt it would be prohibitively expensive to have trim added after the fact.

You could always do gutters to match your trim. Looks finished, and if it ever rains again they'll come in handy.

As long as there's a closure strip between the corrugated roof surface and the wall plate, the finish detail is standard. You could dress it up by building out a box soffit, but it's superficial. The overhang is so short that there doesn't need to be anything structural.

Just ran across this (I know post is old) A larger issue to me is the lack of rib (or steel being 'bent up') to prevent water from flowing down the interior sidewall. Looks like (?) they cut the last rib off yours, though if they had bent that up there'd be no issue here.

your building (unless the other is yours)

note the other building you photographed DOES have a rib here which is necessary as any water getting under
that rake trim will hit the rib and flow off the eave, not into the sidewall of the structure
