This worked in the Ebay Motors auto tools as well. To the best if my knowledge the item was not cross listed on Home and garden or anything like that. I took a shot and it worked. Must be a Christmas miracle.

I pay for eBay purchases almost exclusively via gift card. The only thing I have run across that doesn't allow payment by eBay gift card are gift cards.

There have been a few times it hasn't worked. I think once eBay loosened its ties with PayPal, it was easier to use them. If you look at the back of the gift cards it says not combined with other or similar. Also in the terms of the coupon, it says they are excluded. Previous coupon terms, last paragraph.

I was just posting possible hiccups, as I bought a couple hundred in gift cards on promotion from a local grocery store last year, and couldn't use them with the promotion I was intending to. Recently though I did use a gift card with a promotion. Hopefully their glued together tight arses have permanently become un-sinched in this regard.
