Don't get it. I have always observed those things to be among the least popular of the hard-handled tools. Must be the NIP status and multiple dudes looking for that very specific set in that exact condition.

That is insane. I'm trying to complete a set of SO 4 way angle wrenches and they go for almost new prices. I watched a SO catalog from the 60's go to over $50 a few weeks back.

They look like a cheezy tool, i've never used one like that but man I would never pay $500 bucks for that. There SAE too, not much use for those anymore as we move toward metric. I just figured you guys would get a kick out of it.

****...I had a guy offer me both the metric and the SAE sets new and sealed not a month ago for $200 and I thought it was a bit high - and I'm even trying to complete an orange set!

I agree with whaler - watch for the re-list

What this auction did is skew the ending results, so if someone searches completed auctions for that item they will see that a set "sold" for $500. When the next set comes up for...say...$250, it might seem like a bargain to an unsuspecting bidder. And as long as FeeBay gets their money they will do NOTHING about it.

This is why I no longer buy or sell on FeeBay.

I don't buy much on Ebay, and would never be naive enough to put in some outrageous max bid, specifically for this reason. But I am curious as the partner obviously got too greedy and went past what the actual buyer had entered. Had they not outbid that person and instead they got stuck winning at the $495, could they report the seller and get out of the bid without sacrificing their record?

I'm still amazed someone would do this.

I learned something tonight, I honestly thought WC Fields said that. Thanks!

Fields was the guy who said: "I always keep a supply of stimulant handy in case I see a snake— which I also keep handy."
