I buy a little on eBay, and sell occasionally on eBay. It is the fees that have caused me to stop selling. If you wind up with a non paying bidder, they will credit back the commissions, but not the listing fee. If you re-list it and it sells, under the old policy, they would not charge a second listing fee, under the new policy, they charge for every listing. I have given up on selling on eBay for all but the extremely rare parts that I know will bring big dollar. I have found much better buys at swap meets, but I have also encountered the people that say "On eBay, it will bring twice as much.". To these sellers, I just walk away. I have been tempted to say to them "Why don't you just take it to eBay and not waste your time at the swap meet?" I already know the answer to that question. They are too lazy to spend the time or they don't have the ability to do the auction listing. Many don't have the inclination to do the packing / shipping in a timely manner. eBay used to have a lot more people that earned their living selling on eBay that have given up with the new higher fees. With the slump in the economy, people are not buying as often or as much, and the sellers are being over taxed by eBay new pricing policies.
