Why, any sane buyer will simply do a chargeback/return and win and the seller will end up with negative feedback, refund and Ebay dispute hassles.

This would qualify under seller protection actually. Buyer's remorse is not an acceptable out under eBay policy. The listing makes it quite clear if you read it that you are buying a coupon.

Also, you'd be surprised how many people might just feel embarassed and use it as a lesson.

Why does everyone always assume money laundering? There are a helluva lot better and more private ways to launder money.

this.... my wife was taking orders for HSN type orders.... i overheard one of the calls... some guy called in, and bought a cd collection (yes, in 2015 when every single thing is in mp3 format or sold for about 5 cents per song or free if you just download it and burn it to a cd or put it on a player), for 349.95..... 350 dollars for a collection of 70s and 80s music.... good god why do people like that have money?

I can guarantee the buyer would win a SNAD because the main image is not representative of what's seeing sold. That's a violation of Ebay listing rules.

Perhaps I'm learning something then. Can you send me a link to the policy about the main picture? All I can find is that you can't display a picture which doesn't have anything to do with what you are selling. Since there is a picture of the actual coupon I can't see that happening.

There's an image of the toolbox but the seller is selling a piece of paper. The violation is that the seller's listing must only describe the exact item for sale. (via title, images and description)

If this were elevated to a dispute the buyer would win. Ebay does not like this kind of selling tactic.

You act like those guys at Harbor Freight, in the big old office building they have, haven't figured out that that is what a large portion of customers will do, and adjusted prices accordingly.

Makes almost as much sense as driving 2 towns over to save 5 cents a gallon in a tank of gas. By the time you run the numbers it costs you more every time.

Buyer can absolutely get there money back. Ebay has a separate category for coupons and gift cards. Coupons MUST be sold there. They can not sell a coupon in the Tool box category.

I sold coupons years ago on ebay and originally had them listed wrong. Ebay contacted me and let me know all coupons must be listed in the coupon category and no where else.

Also I was selling legit coupons for very little money not ripping people off like these guys.

I think well the policy says one thing, it is a loose interpenetration. Basically you can get out of almost any winning bid if you try, assuming you don't do it all the time.

ive got about 15 different flashlights from that place.. they come in handy when the power goes out, or during halloween or camping and the kids need some light and i dont want to keep buying batteries or expensive flashlights that cost more than a dollar.

plus the magnetic trays are actually decent, can't go wrong with shaped metal and a magnet
