Thanks for the heads up. I'm local, $11 to ship. It's 2 gallons of gas round trip, plus at least an hour of my time. If the seller had more I was looking for, might be worth the trip. For $4, I'll just ship it. I tossed an offer to grab the parts container as well. Not Giller, but the color is a matching set! I really do have an issue... But here's my rationale.

I consider these boxes green and I'm organizing my better tools, so my teens don't grab the "good" stuff. I catch you with a tool, "if it's red, you're dead (Snap-on/Milwaukee/Knipex/Klein). If it's green, I'm mean (Vessel/Makita/SK)." Otherwise, you're good to go!

These tools are totally dominated by USA Craftsman. Even SK and Wright are less valuable than USA Cman. No chance for them to go up in value. Buy cheap now and sell cheaper later.

^ Very doubtful, and in particular not that set, which was put together by Thorsen for the military - the second-hand market is glutted with those sets - that one just happens to be at the extreme low end of the price range.

Pure speculation on my part, but I am guessing the seller is Meridian Tool in Oklahoma City. I'm assuming that from the glut of other "Thorsen" branded product they have in their Ebay listings.
They DO have some nice stuff - a couple Duro-Indestro wrench sets and a "Diamond" groove-joint plier, but do compare prices with other like items. (I think he's bumped his ebay selling prices up a bit to cover shipping and ebay's confiscatory seller rates.)
(That Duro-Indestro shorty metric wrench set is a really whored-up item - half a dozen manufacturers cranked out boatloads of those sets for the military and the market is glutted with them - I've seen them as low as $20 and as high as $120 - for the Duro-Indestro - more for the S-K version.) Be careful about his other Thorsen stuff - most of it is Taiwan made - that wrench set I posted just above is US made.

If you can contact another member in Oklahoma City you might see if you can work out some kind of deal - I've done it with two different members here and got the Duro-Indestro wrench sets for $30 bucks a pop + shipping.

Holder may be homemade, my guess is Duro/Indestro, as they made several sets of sockets with an L jandle, and knurling looks familiar. Not 100% sure, figure 75+%.

Don't know if any of you are aware of this new option that ebay offered to sellers - if they see you put something on your "watch list" they can make you a "special offer" - I know that d42jeep has also taken advantage of this as well.

Agreed. This feature seems somewhat new and is likely designed to curtail offline sales between eBay buyers/sellers. The to can communicate "outside" of the auction anyway, so eBay probably figures why not try to retain some piece of the transaction. And antsy sellers get their money a bit quicker.

I buy and sell computer parts on eBay. Not professionally, just the upgrade cycle as I find deals and convince myself I need them then sell what they're replacing. Sometimes, parts not commonly in demand will go right away if you price yourself 5% lower than the going rate, other times they will sit for weeks. At that point, once you've at least got a "watcher", decide if you want to wait possibly forever as it gets more outdated by the day or send an offer to get rid of it and at least get back some money now.

I generally avoid selling with OBO since I usually get people offering half of what I'm looking for. This lets me set the price and walk it down over time if I need to. Maybe one in ten items doesn't sell within a few days at my original price.
