interesting. so eBay is hoping buyers that have a bad experience will forget about it?

Yes. They expect you to just forget about it because it was all just a dream:lol_hitti:willy_nil:lol:

On a serious note though, I feel like power sellers should be held to a higher standard of accountability since they've usually been "on the block" longer than normal and know most of the in's and outs of the ebay game.

the fact that sellers can ONLY leave positive feedback for buyers is also BS

Yeah, I think they did it though to prevent sellers giving negative feedback because buyers gave them negative feedback. Would've been better if they put some kind of restriction on it, like the buyer hasn't paid for the item for a few days or something. The buyer doesn't really have many places they can go wrong besides not paying for an item or being an ****** in general, harder to check for the latter though.

The guy made a listing mistake which people tried to take advantage of, knowing it was listing mistake, knowing the orders would get canceled. Jeez, the guy is a human being, trying to make a living. He wasn't trying to mislead anyone. People are lining up to give the guy negative feedback because their hopes of taking advantage failed. Let's punish the guy because our greed wasn't fulfilled.

Also got the 10pc Armstrong socket set. I looked at the back of it first and said "WTF it's missing one!" All there though.

just talked to eBay support about the policy on sellers cancelling orders like that, not to complain about Tooltopia, but just to find out what the deal is. Basically he said all of these cancelled orders create a defect on the account that lasts for 1 year. The defects lead to account limitations, account restrictions, and bans.

For a seller like Tooltopia who does over 1000 orders per month (judging by his feedback, but probably 2000 because a lot of buyers don't leave feedback), it's gonna end up boning him more than if he were to just fulfill the orders.

Or, he might just have customers resort directly at Tooltopia.com

Either way, customers are customers; never blame the customers, :D

All of these cancellation orders equals a high attrition rate on the number of new customer orders

Ebay will not side with you or I who spend couple of bucks here and there. The support guy is feeding you BS story to make you happy. Just my humble opinion....

This guy is small fry in ebay's world. They have more sellers than they know what to do with which is why they impose limits on how much they can sell of certain items.

That's odd, probably a manufacturing design flaw of the blister packaging.
I do count 10-sockets though as per your picture. Is it a genuine item?

As a former powerseller I can assure you that's wrong. Ebay will stick to any seller with impunity over minor unsubstantiated claims from any buyer. Feedback numbers are meaningless, fees paid per month are meaningless...sellers pay the fees but the buyers are where the money is, without a large supply of them nothing gets sold and no fees to eBay.

They would reverse payment to a buyer claiming almost anything even with proof from the seller the buyer is lieing.
I worked for 10 years running the eBay store and auctions for a company that was a platinum powerseller.

Couldn't find a price for this anywhere else. Would have put an offer in myself, but I don't care for spline sockets.

SK 4668, 8 pc., 3/8" Drive, Standard, Universal Spline, SAE Socket Set-USA Made!
NEW old stock USA

$26.99 free shipping OR BEST OFFER

I have the metric and SAE sets both. They are great for rusted, crappy bolts. I don't use them that often, but when I do, they are a big help.
