The Klein is extremely loose. This is a new item, not used. A lot of wobble plus I can move it up/down about 1/8". A little depressed about that. The 3/8 Klein I have does not do that.

^ you know.... Klein has a phone number, because I've talked to them on the phone. the guts of the drive head move "up and down" ? somehow that just doesn't sound right. have to wonder who actually manufactured that for them and maybe if it was outsourced offshore.... :(

Only thing with those is they are all China made. Just how good is Milwaukee vs. Harbor Freight drivers when both are China made? As such, not sure how much this set is really worth. I bought just a couple Proto insulated drivers for my needs instead. - Paul

I agree with you Paul. The NOS Proto insulated drivers made in Germany for like 49.99? By Ojdiaz on eBay seem a better buy despite costing more. Thats what I use.

I've also got a Wiha german made set for 30 bucks.

30 bucks for a bunch of Chinese made screwdrivers does not seem like a deal. I'd hate to learn that they're not actually up to spec on their insulation rating.

Yeah, I've learned in life if the tool actually could kill you or you could get injured from using a bad one, it just isn't worth it, and I don't want China Coo for that item. I like the OldJazz Proto set a lot better for its higher price. Or, just get two of them like I did for a lower price. Everyone should have a few insulated screwdrivers, but I don't think most of us really need a full set of them unless you are an electrician. The Protos are very well made. - Paul

^ I picked up a 4749BL a couple months ago - 1/4" drive pear-head - black finish - and I thought it was actually kind of nice. I think they're more prone to surface rusting though - not sure on that one.
Personal preference thing I guess. I think the majority of people feel like you, which is probably why you can grab those black pear-heads fairly cheap.
I think I got that 1/4" model for about $15 including shipping.

(what I'd really like would be a black Duro-Chrome 1/4" drive to match my WWII vintage black-finish set! )

I have to agree..........SPIN has been doing a most excellent job scouring the interwebs to find us some bodacious deals!

Since joining GJ, I dumped all my old crummy Craftsman ratchets and went modern with high tooth count units from Bahco (dual 88), Gearwrench (84T and 120xp) a couple of Snap Ons (OH MY!) and even a Pittsburgh Pro. But, due to this thread and SPIN and 4Cycle, I have rediscovered older round head ratchets. Even though they offer only middle of the curve tooth counts in the area of 40 or so, they just seem so damn solid and confident! I've been so impressed recently that after I picked up the 3/8" Husky/New Britian that was posted here from ebay seller Donvito, I went back and bought a few more to pass around to some buddies.

Party on dudes..........and thanks for the heads up on some great deals!

P.S. Anyone notice that I also watched Bill and Ted for the first time in 30 years or so?:rocker:

Hey Pumpman, what do you mean "middle of the curve tooth counts in the area of 40 or so"!? 40 is a FINE tooth count!!! Modern punky kids expect so much more then we ever used to!! :shocking: :wtf:

I think every GJ'er should have at least one or two vintage rachets. They were special then and still are now. I love turning my old SK/Proto/New Britain rachets!! - Paul
