The guys over on the Amazon thread were talking about Tekton USA made pliers being on sale. I need a pair of 16" for the shop, but I have never even held ANY Tekton product.

Found a couple of Armstrong, brand new and $19.99 free shipping. The seller HAD 3 of them BEFORE I found the listing.

Ok, I got one for the board. I just started a Ryobi tools Permathread! in the tools section as I am fond of most Ryobi tools. Here is one no longer made for 18v that is highly recommended for a precision 1/2" stroke reciprocating saw for cutting metal or precision wood (but lousy for pruning tree branches):

$27 now, shipping will vary, with 2 days left. I got mine from HD clearance for about $20 each (went and got the 2nd one after finding out how good a tool it was). These are like the Milwaukee one handed precision recip saws but Ryobi version, also made by TTI like the Milwaukee. - Paul

There are a few strings in the Tools segment on bit attachments as of late. A few brands are great, yet each of the have a tendency to not be shabby. SK had an arrangement here a couple of weeks back for 6 attachments for about $30 sent. That was a decent arrangement for SK. About $3-4 an attachment for a top brand is the best I've seen these new. Utilized you can improve. Need to search around.

That SK Frankenstein ratchet is one stiff ratchet, even after cleaning and lubing it. Definitely rugged though. Stiffer than the Wilde ratchet.

I like big handles on tools, so I'd probably love that ratchet. I would be pissed to buy it and find out it isn't USA since he claims so right in the title, that happened to me once already. And the pictures are terrible and the part# is wrong. Hard to trust that auction.

Spn, I saw that ratchet listing and wondered the same thing.

My BIL was western regional sales manager for Great Neck a couple decades ago. Originally Great Neck was all US made stuff, and was fairly decent quality. Over time they started outsourcing most of their product offshore.
I have a few piece that aforementioned BIL gave to me when they moved - all of his old samples - almost all of it's Taiwan-made. Not Snap-on, but it works.
Pieces that see the most use are a set of 1/4" and 3/8" drive "Torx" bits. No problems. We used one of the huge ones (T50? T55?) on an impact gun to remove a seat-belt bolt in my truck and it held up - if that's a litmus test it passed.
Can't really paint a bigger picture because I can't really recall having used any of the other stuff.

The company is called Great Neck USA, but yea, as 4C said, most of their stuff is Taiwan. I don't know how old this ratchet is so I couldn't tell you if it was USA or Taiwan, but 90% of the time, USA ratchets will say "Made in USA", so I have my doubts on this one. Has anyone ever seen a similar ratchet from another brand? If we could trace it to another brand, we could probably find out.

I've heard of Great Neck Saw and the logo on the tool is the same as Great Neck Saw, which is owned by Great Neck Brands. I've never heard of "Great Neck USA" and googling that gets me nothing. Even on ebay, the few tools that come up under "great neck usa" are only marked "great neck" and all appear to be made in the USA, except for that ratchet. So seeing Great Neck USA in the title I have to assume he's claiming it was made in the USA.
