It's a reasonably good deal if you're looking for a vise of this size. From the little bbs on the jaws in the photos, it looks like this vise has been used as a welding clamp for stick or mig, which might potentially mess it up a bit (differential heating and all).

Depending on your urgency of getting a vise, and your tolerance for fighting with a seller about whether the item is in the stated condition or not, this could be a good pickup.

I got a great stout 5" malleable iron Prentiss Bulldog for $70 on craigslist from an old pattern-maker, so that's my reference point for vises. Garage Journal is full of stories of getting amazing vises for $25 at yard sales, but if you need something now, go for it.

Am I wrong in thinking this is a great deal? http://www.ebay.com/itm/122696012316

BALDOR 8107 8" BENCH GRINDER MACHINIST TOOLING 3/4HP 115V 1 PHASE 3450rpm #182C

$220 with FREE shipping OR Best Offer. 1 sold, 7 available.

FWIW, my offer of $170 was just accepted. And I am definitely looking for a good grinder / polisher - that's how I found this one!

Awesome. I know I am new here, and it just dawned on me that this may seem like self-promotion of my products. It's not - not my listing, not my profile, etc.

Duker - the seller's feedback is so-so, with no recent transaction. But when you look at OLD feedback as the seller, it appears to be just fine - including some high end sales.

Here's hoping everything works out!

Hmmm, I think it's going to end up being a scam. I threw him a silly lowball offer and he took it. We'll see what happens? He also relisted the item.

Aw, man ... I hope you are wrong. But, if it sounds too good to be true… it usually is. Those things weight like 85 pounds – the shipping cost alone would be crazy!

I just got this message from the seller.

Hi sir

I usually run my business and ship out the product the same day that it was I receive payment and was wondering if you were able to go ahead and pay today. I'm very happy You are pleased with the price and feel you will be even more happy when you see the product work. I appreciate your corporation and hope I could get a suv to you someone today.

Sounds legit :lol_hitti

Unfortunately I already paid, so we'll see what happens. Like Duker said, worst case, ebay will give a refund if it fails to show up.

Geez ... All eight have been sold, and he did relist another one for auction. So yeah - let's see!

Curious - (since I showed you mine) - I assume that most of those purchases came from this thread - what were some of the offers you guys got accepted?

i'd bet all 8 here sold from here. i went to type in 170 and typed 70 by mistake. he accepted it within seconds. #facepalm

i haven't paid and i'm just going to ignore it. his english skills have seriously deteriorated over the past year. :) if you look at the feedback he's given others, it's obvious the account's hacked.

thanks for your corporation... <popcorn>

Mine just posted as shipped.
Should we be notifying eBay that we are suspicious? I've been on there since 99, have feedback in the 700's and have NEVER been scammed.

does the tracking number show as valid and look right on the shipper's website?

it should update overnight at least.

if it shows as valid, I just may pay it and hope it isn't a small flat rate usps box of rocks. which is common because once it's delivered, "hey man, I shipped you the package and you got it."

It shows that it was shipped in a Priority Mail Express Flat Rate Envelope and no tracking is available.

Now that I am looking at it, why are the images uncropped screen shots? Le Sigh ...

- no tracking is a red flag.
- the payment page shows "USPS Priority Mail Express Flat Rate Envelope - Free" as the method. "envelope" ???
- I usually put the images on tineye.com and search to see if they're original or copies or stock photos. that's a good indicator, too.

and i think it's time to peace out before ryan grabs his hammer... :)

Ya'll are definitely not getting any grinders. He stole the photo and details from this already completed listing which went for much more $.

I figured I would log into eBay just to see if there was a tracking number and of course there was none. However, the seller had not claimed the payment yet through PayPal so I just canceled the payment.

Of course this now guarantees the deal was real and will work out for the rest of you guys! Lol

I called eBay just to be safe. They marked the listing as suspicious and reassured me that the money is safe, even if I don't want to cancel. I am going to roll the dice and wait, even if I am 90% sure this is a scam.

I feel like this is the 211 scam all over, why do you people insist on moving forward with a transaction that is clearly a scam? Even if you do get your money back, eBay will spend money and time, in the long run that translates to more fees and bs all because you wanted to see if a deal that is too good to be true is real or not. WTF, and as I said before, I hope you all lose your money.

Well, it's confirmed - just got an email from eBay saying that the account was compromised, and that they are cancelling all orders, and encouraging you to get your money back. Went into PayPal, and since the charge was still showing as Pending, I was able to cancel it.

This morning, I was wondering about the guy whose account this is - and how he was getting bad feedback, etc, and may not even know about it. So, I did the eBay contact request deal, called him and left him a VM saying that I am a buyer on a transaction with him (supposedly), and that I have reasons to believe that his account as compromised, etc. Wonder if that's what did it?

In the end - if it sounds too good to be true, it apparently still is.

SK G-Pro 89450-5 Piece 75 degree Offset Spline Metric Ratcheting Wrench Set NEW

http://www.ebay.com/itm/311965136435

there is a seller that has been posting these one or two sets at a time for 99$(shipped). this guy is selling for 65$(shipped), has three left.

i have them, they are pretty nice. note that:

1) they are spline. some people care.

2) they are pretty old stock(although are still new). i think they are from a previous iteration of SK, and doubt they are warrantable.
